Rewards From Him

Psalm 127: 3
Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.

Psalms 139: 13-16
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Jack's Travels

start
(you have to picture Jack parallel to the play gym bars)

finish

While playing with Jack on the floor the other day, I noticed that he started making wierd movements with his body that I had never seen before. He was twisting, pushing his belly out, and digging his heals in. After a few minutes I noticed he was moving. He started parallel to the play gym bars, and ended up twisted around, and far off the play mat. You'll also notice that he pushed himself up under the ottoman. I had to get a few good shots, so by the time I was done, he was pretty far under. I think he was fairly interested at the underside of the ottoman, because he didn't cry once. Oh and yes, he is only wearing a diaper. For some reason, Jack cries sometimes, and the only thing that will make him happy, is to be naked. I like happy babies, so therefore, he spends some of each day in a diaper.

Both my girls love to be naked too. I am freezing wearing two layers and they are about in a diaper and t-shirt. Crazy! ~A

I've been able to overhear these two "talking" the last few days that I've talked to Amy on the phone, and it occurred to me that when I was the mom with little ones, I was busy tending them, the house and the rest of the family. Being (mostly) free of that now, I'm fascinated and amazed by their developmental milestones. A new sound, a new laugh, a new movement, or gesture-it's all new and fresh and exciting. And perhaps it was the same when my own were little and I've forgotten with time. Since I only see Jack and Sophie once a week, it's amazing to see leaps and bounds of changes each week. They are growing sooooo fast!
