Rewards From Him

Psalm 127: 3
Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.

Psalms 139: 13-16
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

Amazing Pictures

My sister's friend, Thomas, came to visit and took these great pictures of the babies. I love the one of Sophie, she looks beautiful. I also like the one of my cousin Teresa with Sophie. They both look so silly!

Baby Prodigy

Swaddle Banana

For the first two months I couldn't sleep my kids in their cribs. They slept every night in their swings. After trying the swaddle, I found that they will sleep very soundly in their cribs. Sophie has such a startle reflex, that she needs to be wrapped very tightly. Matt calls it the "baby straightjacket." I say, "The longer the sleeps, the better!"

New Outfits

We received a package in the mail from Uncle Dan and Aunt Jan the other day. Aunt Jan knitted beautiful blankets for the babies. These great outfits were also inside! The twins look so cute with their hoods up! Neither seemed to mind having hoods on, but Sophie did try to eat hers!

Captive Audience

Sophie has become very demanding of those who hold her. When Matt holds her, he has to look into her eyes, and nowhere else. If he does look away, she will start by making a cooing sound to get his attention. If that doesn't work, she will start to get upset. Eventually she will cry to make sure he is looking at her. Lucky for for Sophie, there are plenty of loving people around to stare into her eyes!

Two Months!

What a change from our little tiny babies in two months! Although we had to cancel our two month checkup, both the babies were weighed at the doctor's office. Jack wieghs a whopping
9 lbs. 14 oz., and Sophie weighs 7 lbs. 3 oz. They are really growing! Things are changing around our house, as both babies are starting to love playing! Also, they are noticing each other's cries, and crying in unison. Sometimes it's really hard when you are the only one around! Hopefully soon they will notice each other when playing. We can't get enough of their smiles either. Matt and I do anything we can(including standing on heads making funny faces) to get one of those amazing smiles that fill their entire faces. The oufits they are wearing are some of my favorites! I love the coordinating boy/girl oufits, which is one of the fun parts of having twins! On a side note, Matt and I could still use tons more sleep!

The Boys

Update!

For those of you that heard, Matt, the twins, and I ended up in the hospital for twenty-four hours. We took both babies to the doctors for the cold symptoms that they were having, and Sophie's condition warranted a trip to the hospital. She was having breathing problems called retractions, which is a condidtion in which her body is really struggling to breath. Once at the hospital, several tests were done to determine what was wrong. The tests showed that she has a case of RSV. This is a "normal" cold in older children and adults, but in babies(especially premature ones) it is very dangerous. One of the nurses was able to clear some snot out of her nose, and then she was able to breath very normally again. When they finally let her eat, she ate like a little piggy! She had to be monitored though, and hooked up to an IV. This morning, it was determined that she was well enough to go home. The doctors never tested Jack, but they assume that he has the same thing as Sophie. This virus can hang on for a couple of weeks, and days 5-10 are the worst days. The twins are on day five right now, so we are really praying that they will continue to get better, and not worse. Both babies do seem to be doing better, which is an answer to prayers!

Prayers Please!

Both babies are feeling yucky and fussy today, with low grade fevers, and slight coughs. It's fussy times two! If you could just pray for a fast recovery, and patience for Matt and I in dealing with their cries.

We took our first trip to the mall on Monday, where we picked up the perfect Christmas

Thanksgiving Weekend

Over Thanksgiving weekend, we made our first trips with the babies. We took a short trip to Grandma and Grandpa Anderson's house and then a two hour trek to State College, PA to GREAT Aunt Marcy and GREAT Uncle Steve's house. The trip was not too bad, the babies slept the whole way. The only snag was that we forgot our diaper bag!

Mohawk

Matt found out that Jack's hair is just long enough to make a mohawk.
I couldn't even get it to lay flat with a brush!
